Counseling & Therapy

Our expertise in linguistics, psychology, counseling, interdisciplinary medicine, and related fields uniquely qualifies us to care for older adults, particularly those recovering from stroke, dealing with dysphagia, or facing other health and neurological disorders, including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Christine, certified as a brain injury specialist, excels in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing difficulties. Our counseling services aim to strengthen, restore confidence, and empower patients and their families to make informed decisions, contributing to the restoration of a healthy life.

Consultations & Treatment

Our consultation services encompass both in-person home visits and remote sessions, featuring personalized 1-on-1 engagements with your child. During these sessions, we assess speech needs, communication deficits, and diagnose disorders such as articulation issues, phonological and language disorders, disfluency, and voice or resonance disorders. Following diagnosis, we pinpoint key areas for improvement, develop a customized plan tailored to your child’s needs, and set therapy goals to track and achieve measurable goals.

With her extensive medical and educational background, graduating at the top of her class at NYU, Christine is poised to provide essential expert testimony in complex legal cases involving communication and swallowing disorders. Drawing on her comprehensive knowledge of speech and language development, acquired through roles as a former nursing home director, clinical supervisor, adjunct professional, and positions in esteemed medical hospitals, Christine is a valuable asset in such matters. Whether assessing the impact of communication disorders, the need for therapeutic interventions, or offering insights into long-term effects, she is well-equipped to address various aspects of a case, including causation, damages, and strengths and weaknesses. Certified as a traumatic brain injury specialist and trainer, Christine is available for consultations, evaluations, expert opinions, and trial testimony.

Accent Modification

We offer accent modification services to individuals who face challenges in speech clarity due to their accents. While accents are a natural part of language diversity, some people may find that their accents complicate communication, affecting personal and professional growth. While accents themselves are not considered communication disorders, our services are dedicated to accent modification, which focuses to improve speech clarity and enhance communication, fostering confidence and enabling our clients to reach their full potential.

Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

We will collaborate and consult with your child’s IEP team, adhering to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), to ensure that your child with special needs has an appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to your child’s specific needs. This involves identifying specialized services in the IEP and ensuring the attainment of development benchmarks and objectives, which ensures your child’s needs are being effectively addressed at the school.
